Description: this vintage 1944 build Piper (ex USAAF) came on April 11 1947 in the Belgian register as "OO-GBA" for Les Grands Blessés de l' Aviation Belge, established on January 1 1942 and based at Grimbergen airfield. Later in the fifties it went to Christiane Devleminck on behalf of Devleminck Air Services (DAS), established in 1953 which was a flight school based at Grimbergen airfield. On July 25 1958 it was damaged during a forced landing at an unknown location in Belgium. On August 20 1958 it was cancelled from the register but was also repaired and re-entered on February 26 1959 as "OO-AFI" for the same flight school, here seen at its home base with "DAS" titles on the fuselage. After another incident at its home base on December 14 1969 it was laid up there and cancelled from the register on August 18 1981. Later on August 13 1982 it showed up in the English register as "G-AGIV" for a private user Michael Gideon Pickering.
