Supermarine Spitfire LF.IXc (CBAF.IX.533)

Description: this second hand Spitfire came on June 15 1956 in the register for Cogea Nouvelle, established on January 14 1946 as Compagnie Générale d'Exploitation Aéronautique (shortened to Cogea) based at Keerbergen airfield but after a reorganistation on November 30 1954 its name changed to Cogea Nouvelle whereby its base switched to Ostend airport. Here seen such in a metal livery with their logo and titles on the fuselage. It participated also in the movie "The Longest Day" in 1961. On December 23 1966 it was cancelled from the register and went six day later to England for Thomas Gilbert Mahaddie / Film Aviation Services Ltd being re-registered "G-AVDJ".
