Description: this airframe of Sabena was delivered at Brussels (Haren) on February 6 1947, here seen in the second livery (of three) in front of maintenance Hangar 3 of Sabena still under construction which was finished in November 1953.

Description: from November 8 1959 onwards it was based at Tripoli (Libya) and operated by Linair. On June 13 1965 it returned to Brussels (Zaventem), just in advance before the contract with Linair was terminated a few weeks later on July 1. The picture shows it after the Libyan lease wearing the third and final color scheme of Sabena for this airframe when with the Belgian flag carrier.

Description: seen parked on the southern apron of Brussels Airport. In the back a Sabena Fokker F27 "D-BAKU" leased from LTU in the lessor's livery and in the far back an unidentified Sabena B707. In front a few car models of that era.

Description: when sold on March 11 1970 to Delta Air Transport as fourth Douglas for this company, it was the last DC-3 to leave the Sabena fleet. It arrived in basic Sabena colors at Antwerp airport on March 17 and is here captured in this livery taken from the terras of the North Pier of Brussels Airport. In the background the South Pier with on its  terras a few visitors and behind also the tail of a parked Aeroflot Tupolev Tu104 can be recognized.

Description: another view at Brussels Airport taken from the terras of the South Pier facing towards the North Pier. In has in fact a very interesting background with a bunch of Caravelle's, the SAM operating for Alitalia, a B747-100 of Pan Am which on July 2 1970 was the first airline to conduct 747 services into Brussels with on that date "N737PA" being the lucky one. In the far distance a Yemen DC-6 of Brothers Air Services could be recognized which was together with a sistership from March 1971 onwards impounded for two years and parked at various locations at the airport.

Description: flying gracefull through the skies, it made its last flight on October 30 1972 and left (just like OO-DVG) Antwerp for the States a bit later on November 18...

Description: ...where on December 16 it was reregistered "N3433U" to its new owner and flew at least till January 1976 in the colors of DAT without titles. Here depicted afterwards in the process of being polished...
