01/1966 Location: ANR/EBAW Photo: collection Skystef Description: this second hand vintage Beech, build in 1951 for the USAAF, arrived at Antwerp airport in 1960 as "N9482Z" of previous owner Donald A. McGovern. It was registered on December 28 1960 to Aviation Benelux based at Antwerp airport but apparently never carried out a single flight and was at first put in storage inside a hangar and from the mid sixties onwards in open storage. Here seen such in a bare metal livery without titles and also without a registration as it was wiped out after some local folks painted a fake Congolese registration on it. According testimonies of these local folks it never carried a visible Belgian registration on the outside. |
