Boeing 737-229 Advanced (21176)

Description: this B737 airframe for Sabena was delivered at Brussels on December 12 1975 and became one week later operational. On October 21 1977, it was rolled-out at Brussels in hybrid Gulf Air markings as start of a lease to them the next day lasting till May 15 1978. It had Arab titles on the right side and English titles on the left side.

Description: between November 2 1985 and December 5 1985 it was leased to Air Gabon in these hybrid markings.

Description: second (of three) color scheme(s) of Sabena, this one was adopted in the mid eighties

Description: an 8 month lease to Malaysia from May 1989 onwards and reregistered 9M-MBP, here captured in basic Sabena colors with "Malaysia" titles and tail logo.

Description: when it returned from Malaysia on March 17 1990, it wore full Sabena markings but still with the Malaysian registration. It was restored Belgian within a week.

Description: second color scheme but without the small "Belgian World Airlines" titles.

Description: third and airframes final color scheme. During its operational life with Sabena, several leases took place: besides the depicted ones: in 1985 one month to Air Gabon and from 1993 on a couple of times to Sobelair. This airframe had also the honor of making the last commercial B737-200 flight for Sabena, namely on November 30 2000 a flight from Göteborg as SN2276. For this occasion it carried small "Last days of the 737-200 in Sabena  !!!Good luck wherever you go!!!" titles.
