Reims/Cessna F.172H (F172-0331)

Description: this factory fresh Cessna (build by Reims) was on November 29 1966 registered to Sotramat which stood for Société de Transports Aériens Maritimes et Terrestres being established on May 7 1958 and based at Brussels Airport / Antwerp airport with at first the core business being importer of propeller driven Cessna airframes for the Benelux. This airframe was based at Beerse airfield, later on June 16 1967 it moved on to the Gentse Universitaire Vliegclub based at Ghent airfield, here depicted such in a livery without titles except for a number in the tail for an air rally. Later in 1974 it went to a private user (H. Piana) basing the Cessna at Amougies airfield, later Grimbergen airfield. On April 29 1988 it migrated to the Belgian Flight School and on July 31 1989 to a private user (A. Dillien), both based at Grimbergen airfield. It was damaged beyond repair while on the ground at Brussels Airport during a winterstorm on January 13 1993 being a month later cancelled from the register on February 11. Afterwards is was sold to Vliegclub Hoevenen for spares & broken up at Antwerp airport in 1995.
