1973 Location: - Photo: collection Skystef Description: the first Douglas jet airframe for Sabena arrived at Brussels on September 22 1973. After months of storage (pilot salary dispute) it went operational to Heathrow from March 22 1974 onwards (for crew training) and was on the Tokyo run (via Anchorage) from April 5 onwards. Here captured on a promo flight in its first livery. |

12/1989 Location: LHR/EGLL Photo: collection Skystef Description: after this lease it was repainted at Brussels in basic Sabena colors with "Zambia Airways" titles and tail logo, for an immediate lease to this African carrier which took place between November 16 1989 and January 27 1990. On October 30 1994 its final commercial flight was made on behalf of Sabena and the airframe left the Belgian register on December 6 1994 as "N116WA" for World Airways. |
