Description: this vintage 1951 build Piper (ex USAAF) came on January 14 1970 in the register for Aéro Para Club de Spa, originally established in 1908 as Aéro-club Liège-Spa on the plateau of Malchamps, just south of Spa airfield. After WW II it was in October 1945 renamed to its current name and obtaining the Royal title in 1976. On June 25 1980 the airframes CofA did expire but remained on the register while in storage (dismantled) at Hoevenen airfield. On March 12 1991 it went to the local flying club there, Vliegclub Hoevenen established on October 18 1973, here seen such on a visit at Antwerp airport carrying a livery with their tail logo (see also upper left inset) and such still current.
