Description: this factory fresh Robin was registered on November 19 1971 to E.M. Deom Aviation, a small company who acted as flying school but also made technical assistence to Cessna 150's (of Publi-Air). Set up in 1968, it was based at Grimbergen airfield and run by Xavier Deom, here seen such in a livery with small titles above the cheatline (see also upper left inset). After been stored for a while in the hangar at Grimbergen, it went on June 21 1976 to a private owner (G. Verzele) and based its aircraft at Wevelgem airport. On May 31 1983 it went to a private user (D. Barthelemy) basing it again at Grimbergen airfield followed by more private owners on April 25 1986 (M. & J.C. Delrue & A. Grossi) also based at Grimbergen airfield. After been for sale since January 1990 it went from 1991 onwards to another handfull of private owners but was stored from 1995 onwards. The final owner (A. Tondeur) obtained this aircraft on March 31 2005. However before delivery to its new owner and after months of revision, it was air tested by test pilot J-L. Moyaux but crashed shortly after take-off at Kiewit airfield on May 30 2005 due to engine troubles whereby the pilot was killed. A crash report (in French) can be found here. It was cancelled from the register on June 4 2019.
